È una polvere composta al 100% da foglie essiccate e macinate di Indigofera tinctoria, una pianta originaria dell'India, conosciuta da millenni per le sue proprietà coloranti. Il nome latino "Indigofera" significa infatti "produttrice di indaco", e l'indaco è proprio il pigmento che da essa si ottiene.

Il colore finale che si ottiene con l'Hennè Naturale Nero dipende dal colore naturale dei capelli su cui viene applicato, che rappresenta la base per la colorazione: dona ai capelli castani scuri e bruni sfumature blu-violette, intensificandone il colore e riflessandoli gradevolmente. Non è adatto per essere applicato su capelli bianchi, castani chiari, biondi o decolorati.
